My friends and I decided to take a little adventure to Washington, DC for the day. We go to college at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia so the drive is only about 3 hours making it the perfect day trip!

So, let's begin a day in DC…

Tour the White House

We started the day off with a tour of the White House, which was perfect for my history loving self! Getting a tour of the White House is on a first come, first served basis, but you must submit a request at least 21 days in advance. Definitely recommend getting a tour if you can; click here to get more information.

Take Pictures at the White House

Of course this was a must for my friends and I! I mean were you even there if you don’t document it in pictures? Sadly, the front of the White House was closed so we weren’t able to see it, but we made sure to take pictures in the back.

See the President

Okay.. so this one might be a little harder to do. My friends and I got very lucky and happened to see President Trump drive by two times on our trip, crazy right?! While for my friends and I this was just luck, if you would really like to see the President his schedule is posted online and maybe you can somehow time it right to see him leaving the White House - learned this from some Trump fans on the metro!

Lunch at GCDC

GCDC is a is a Grilled Cheese bar within walking distance of the White House so it is a perfect stop after your visit. I split The Bacon Jalapeño Popper grilled cheese sandwich with my friend. It was yummy and a good amount of food for two!

See the Sights at the National Mall

This is an obvious must do when in DC! I am a big history gal so looking around at all the sights made me very happy. We did not have time to go to every sight so we stopped by the Washington Monument, World War II Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial. If you do not have a lot of time in the city, I would definitely recommend stopping by those first. They also have some great views for pictures!

The Museum of the Bible

The Museum of the Bible is the perfect way to end your day. You will most likely have to Uber or ride the metro to get here because it is a far walk from the National Mall, but I highly recommend going. Just remember the museum closes at 5 so give yourself at least 3-4 hours to go through the museum. Tickets are $19.99 if you order online so I would definitely recommend buying them this way. If you would like to get tickets click here. Also, when you go, make sure you head to the top of the building to get some cute pictures!

There is SO much to see and do in Washington, DC and it is impossible to fit it all in one day. This is what my friends and I did on our day in DC; I highly recommend you do it too. Enjoy your day in the city!
