The beginning of 2019 my college friends and I traveled to Atlanta for a long weekend to go to the Passion 2019 Conference. It was an amazing time and we had a few extra days to explore the city and EAT!! We ate a lot, and it was really really good. Some of the places we ate were outside of the city but not farther than 40 minutes - making these restaurants a good option for your trip to Atlanta, Georgia.
1. The Varsity
Did you even go to Atlanta if you don’t take a stop at The Varsity? The Varsity is a great stop if you’re looking for fast and cheap food. I got the classic cheeseburger with fries. I think all together my meal was around $5 (which this broke college student was super pumped about)!! We also had to take a lot of pictures in front of the restaurant, cuz why not?

2. BarTaco
Okay, so I am a HUGE fan of Mexican food, and I will take every and any opportunity to eat tacos, burritos, chips, or anything Mexican related. Therefore, when my friend suggested BarTaco after a day at the conference I was very much grateful. We started off with salsa verde and it was so good. My friends got different flavors of tacos but I got a rice bowl. Now one thing to note about BarTaco is that these are fancy tacos and small portions; therefore, if you’re a big eater you could end up spending a lot of money on a lot of tacos. But if you're into unique tacos and some good salsa verde - it’s a must.

OH MY GOODNESS WOW! All of my friends agreed this was our favorite place that we ate at. Hattie B’s has quite possibly the best fried chicken I have ever had; you can choose a heat along with your meat so this spicy loving gal made sure to get kick to her chicken. It was so good! Don’t even get me started on the pimiento mac n’ cheese. This is definitely a must for your Atlanta trip. I think I might cry just thinking about how good it was!

This is definitely one of those super yummy hole in the walls type of place. You can tell this is a place the locals love. I got a 1/2 bird with a side of Macaroni and cheese. While the macaroni and cheese wasn’t as good as Hattie B’s, it was still super good and my favorite food at the restaurant. Be sure to add this to your list of must tries.

Of course we had to stop by a Mexican restaurant again! I was a big fan of this restaurant!! I got a taco and a cheese enchilada with the green Chile sauce, SO GOOD! Oh my goodness, but the absolute best part about this place was the cheese dip. It was some of the best cheese dip I have ever had. For some of my
friends, it was too spicy, but for me it was just right. Definitely recommend.

This one is not as much about the food but about the experience. This is the original Chick-Fil-A and a place I think should be on everyones bucket list. This place is part normal CFA restaurant and half diner and it is so cool. On the walls are pictures of the history of CFA and the menu is full of items on the original menu. The place was full of locals and the staff was super friendly. Such a cool experience and definitely a place I highly recommend.
All around we had an amazing trip and a lot of yummy food! I would highly recommend adding these cheap eats to your list of must do's while in Atlanta.

Wow! thanks for the suggestions! I have been to Hattie B's and I can honestly say that it's the best fried chicken ever! Can't wait to try Taqueria Del Sol! looks yummy!
